Tongue, Lip, or Cheek Injuries

Ice should be applied to any bruised areas. For bleeding, apply firm but gentle pressure with a sterile gauze or cloth. If the bleeding does not stop with pressure or continues for more than 15 minutes, then go directly to the nearest emergency room.


Jaw Injuries

In the event of an injury to your jaw, go immediately to the nearest emergency room.


Bleeding After a Baby Tooth Falls Out

Fold a piece of sterile gauze and place it firmly over the bleeding area. Have your child bite down on the gauze for 15 minutes. If the bleeding continues after 15 minutes, then please call our dental office.


Cold or Canker Sores

Over-the-counter medications (OTC) will usually provide temporary pain relief for cold sores. If your cold sores persist, then please call our office for additional advice and suggestions.
